Penny Bearman graduated from Central School of Art and Design, London in 1981. After graduating she spent five years painting portraits in the street, sitting outside the National Portrait Gallery, London and in Shaftesbury Avenue, Picadilly. London. A very difficult task! But Penny has tremendous skill and observation and over the five years painted millions of portraits of the public. Her oil and pastel portraits include dignatories and famous people. In 1988 she started teaching adults painting and portraiture. Penny also works with children and undertakes comunity work both with adults and children. See community projects for some of her work. Penny's work is in great demand. She paints murals in restaurants and public places. She also undertakes advertising and promotion work. Some of her murals can be seen in:
